It’s impossible to solve problem when we don’t know what is wrong to begin with. It’s impossible to experience freedom, if you don’t know where you are stuck. We usually have a theory about what the problem may be in our lives and many of us have been working on “us” for a long time. We spend money working on us, time in therapy, new toys, gyms, diet plans, vacations, and we think that if we just make better decisions or better choices – we can experience a different outcome in our lives. However, this doesn’t seem to be working that well. Self-Help publication is still on the rise and folks around every turn promise happiness is just a small tweak away – but the problems usually remain.
OUTCOMES (we all desire Freedom, but cannot seem to achieve it in every area of our lives)
I want to suggest a radical idea!!! READY… The problem may be, that we don’t know what the problem may be.
I believe that many of us run circles back and forth between the future we long for and the decision we need to make to get us there… and we just keep tweaking, and running, and working with very little to show at the end of the day.
Better DECISIONS = Better OUTCOMES (but we still end up with some of the same problems in our lives)
I’m excited about the next series we are teaching at Journey Church called “Freedom”. It’s starting this Easter Sunday (Saturday night actually – at our new campus in Cornelius) AND I couldn’t be more excited about it. Everyone is trying to figure out and solve the problems in their lives, and I BELIEVE that if we go back and look at the TRUTH of who we are IN CHRIST because of His Death and Resurrection – we might actually experience the FREEDOM we all long for. When we understand and allow the this truth to change what we BELIEVE about ourselves, then we begin to see it multiplied in our DECISIONS and have an extraordinary impact on the OUTCOMES we see in our lives. In other words – we can all experience Freedom because of Jesus Christ.
BELIEF x DECISION = OUTCOME
If you are in town, I invite you to join us Easter Weekend (Cornelius Saturday at 5pm, Huntersville Sunday 9;30am & 11:15am) as we celebrate the POWER and PROMISE of FREEDOM that comes with Easter Sunday!
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! – Romans 5:17
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” – Romans 6:4
